Six Decades of Music, Family, and Celebration

The Revels are a multigenerational band carrying on a musical legacy that began in 1964. Blending family tradition with decades of stage experience, The Revels deliver high-energy performances spanning beloved hits from the 1950s through today. Known for their polished musicianship and crowd-pleasing versatility, they have become a favorite for city celebrations, weddings, private parties, and corporate events across Utah, creating memorable live music experiences for audiences of all ages. Let's introduce you to the band.

Lindon Parks

Lindon Parks
// guitar & vocals

As founder of The Revels, Lindon Parks is the musical cornerstone of a legacy that has been bringing people together through music since 1964. A lifelong performer with nearly seventy years of public performance experience, Lindon embodies the spirit of musicianship, family, and joy that has defined The Revels for generations. His love of music is rooted not only in tradition, but in curiosity—a belief that music is always evolving, and that there is always something new to learn.

In Lindon’s words, he is “living proof that you actually can teach an old dog new tricks.” What began as him teaching his children the music of his generation has grown into a shared musical exchange, with his children introducing him to the music of theirs. That openness, humility, and love of discovery continue to shape the multigenerational sound and spirit of The Revels today.

A true musical “jack of all trades,” Lindon has performed publicly on spoons, bongos, accordion, trap drums, piano, bass, guitar, banjo, and harmonica—bringing versatility, humor, and a lifelong performer’s instinct to every stage he steps onto. His first memorable “professional” performance came as a child when he literally sang for his supper at a Lions Club gathering—earning his first beefsteak through song. To this day, he jokes that he is still perfectly happy to perform for food whenever convenient.

Beyond music, Lindon finds joy in growing, cooking, and sharing food with family and friends—another expression of the same generous spirit he brings to performing. Most of all, he treasures making music with family. With eight children, thirty-eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, Lindon’s musical legacy is not only rich in history—it is still growing.

With humor, heart, and a lifetime devoted to music, Lindon Parks is the foundation of The Revels’ enduring legacy—and the living spirit of the band’s family tradition.

Jody Marks

Jody Marks
// keyboards & vocals

Jody Marks brings vibrant energy, musicianship, and heart to The Revels, combining lifelong musical training with a natural love of performing. Raised in a home where music was always present and collaborative music-making was part of everyday life, Jody began playing piano at the age of five and quickly developed a passion for singing, dancing, and entertaining. Her love of music led her to study piano, keyboard, and voice throughout her youth, later continuing her musical education in college with piano and guitar studies.

By age twelve, Jody was already performing and singing in bands, beginning what would become a lifelong journey of sharing music with others. Her appreciation spans all genres, and that broad musical love is reflected in her dynamic stage presence and versatile playing style. Her spirited personality, expressive musicianship, and genuine joy in performing make her a magnetic presence on stage.

Music has also shaped Jody’s family life. It was music that first brought her and her husband together, and that shared passion continues today through their talented children and a family culture deeply rooted in creativity and performance.

Spunky, energetic, and full of heart, Jody brings joy, soul, and unmistakable spark to every Revels performance.

Ryan Hirst

Ryan Hirst
// lead vocals

Ryan Hirst brings depth, emotion, and unmistakable character to The Revels as lead vocalist. Though few who know him would have predicted he would one day stand center stage, Ryan’s deep passion for music and the transformative power of creative expression naturally led him there. What began as a personal connection to music became a calling—one that allows him to connect with audiences through honesty, feeling, and a voice uniquely his own.

Ryan’s musical journey began in the era of Sony Walkmans and cassette tapes, where he discovered that music was more than entertainment—it was identity, emotion, and connection. He draws inspiration from iconic vocalists known for mood, nuance, and authenticity, including Roland Orzabal, Robert Smith, David Gahan, Ian McCulloch, and Richard Ashcroft. Inspired by artists who bring emotional truth to every performance, Ryan approaches each song with the goal of tapping into its heart—making it his own while honoring what makes it resonate.

His musical tastes span 80s New Wave, alternative, indie, folk, Americana, and alternative country—an eclectic blend that informs his expressive vocal style and broadens The Revels’ musical personality. Offstage, Ryan works as a Respiratory Care Practitioner and enjoys spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, fitness, and immersing himself in music—preferably on vinyl, where he believes the listening experience is richest and most authentic.

Thoughtful, soulful, and emotionally connected to every lyric, Ryan brings authenticity and heart to The Revels’ sound—turning songs into shared experiences.

Oliver Woodland

Oliver Woodland
// lead guitar & vocals

Oliver Woodland brings precision, heart, and expressive musicianship to The Revels as lead guitarist. Having played guitar since high school, Oliver developed a lifelong love of music that eventually became part of the larger musical legacy of The Revels when he joined the band in 2018. His thoughtful playing style, strong musicianship, and steady presence add depth and energy to the band’s sound, helping shape performances that are both polished and heartfelt.

A veteran of the United States Air Force, Oliver served for many years as a C-17 pilot, flying combat missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. His military service reflects a life marked by discipline, courage, and dedication—qualities he brings into every aspect of life, including music. In addition to his distinguished service, Oliver holds degrees in Physics-Astronomy and Astronautical Engineering, reflecting both intellectual curiosity and a lifelong pursuit of excellence.

As Lindon Parks’ son-in-law, Oliver’s place in The Revels represents another meaningful branch in the family’s growing musical tradition. Like the generations before him, he is now passing that love of music on to his own children—continuing a legacy built not only on performance, but on family, mentorship, and shared joy.

Steady, thoughtful, and deeply rooted in family tradition, Oliver brings skill, strength, and soulful musicianship to The Revels’ sound.

Darren Parks

Darren Parks
// bass

Darren Parks provides the heartbeat of The Revels, delivering the steady rhythm, musical depth, and understated stage presence that anchor the band’s sound. Although he first began playing guitar in grade school, Darren discovered his true musical calling when he switched to bass in early high school—a move that set him firmly in the groove where he belongs.

Music has always been woven into Darren’s life, largely through the influence of his father, Lindon Parks, founder of The Revels. Lindon’s lifelong passion for playing—and his continued love of jamming with Darren today—has been Darren’s greatest musical inspiration and a defining part of his own journey as a musician.

As bassist for The Revels, Darren draws inspiration from alternative rock, classic rock, and country music, creating a style that is solid, tasteful, and deeply connected to the song. Quiet and composed on stage, Darren’s calm presence hides a musician fully immersed in every performance—always “rocking out” internally while keeping the music grounded and moving.

Outside of music, Darren is a business owner who values family, fly fishing, sports, fine art, good music, and spending clear nights stargazing through his telescope—bringing the same thoughtful spirit to life that he brings to the stage.

Steady, soulful, and deeply rooted in family tradition, Darren is the quiet groove at the center of The Revels’ sound.

Scott Dimmick

Scott Dimmick
// drums & vocals

Scott Dimmick brings a lifetime of musicianship, rhythm, and versatility to The Revels. A drummer since the age of six—when he received his first drum set—Scott has spent nearly his entire life behind a kit, developing the steady groove, instinctive timing, and “in the pocket” playing style that anchors the band’s sound. His dynamic drumming keeps performances driving forward while giving The Revels the solid musical foundation audiences feel as much as they hear.

Music has always been part of Scott’s story. He began playing in bands at just seven years old and continued performing throughout his youth in several high school groups, including In Retrospect, The Mountain Toads, The Madhatters, and MDG and the John Does. He later spent 16 years performing with the band Crossroads alongside his father—continuing a family tradition of making music together that mirrors the spirit at the heart of The Revels.

In addition to drums, Scott is a talented multi-instrumentalist, playing guitar, bass, and keyboards, and contributes strong harmony vocals that add richness and depth to the band’s live sound. His broad musical skillset, deep experience, and passion for performance make him an essential part of The Revels’ chemistry on stage.

Steady, versatile, and deeply musical, Scott helps drive The Revels’ signature sound—bringing rhythm, harmony, and heart to every performance.
